Principal's Message

Welcome to Thorncliffe School, a little school with heart! We are known for our friendly and welcoming learning environment where everyone is valued.  Our goal is to nurture positive relationships with our students and their families, and to provide strong teaching practice that ensures all of our students will be successful both socially and academically. Thorncliffe School has a long tradition of being a school with heart, where our students and families feel belonging and care. Our small school environment makes Thorncliffe feel like a family and our Thorncliffe Tigers learn to value and embody kindness and leadership. Our students take great pride in their school and community and are recognized for their resiliency and growth mindset.

As principal at Thorncliffe School, my first priority is to ensure that all students have what they need to be successful and that their school is always a place where they feel valued and are encouraged to do their best. In addition to our three Division site programs, Thorncliffe is home to Regular K-6 programming, high calibre music education, excellent access to technology, and a partnership with E4C who provides a daily nutrition program. Students love our spacious library, modern furniture, fireplace, our large gymnasium with a beautiful performance stage, and our bright, newly remodelled kindergarten room with large windows, and high ceilings.

At Thorncliffe we believe that student success is a shared responsibility of the school, parents, and our community.  We welcome and encourage our parents, volunteers, and partners to play an active role in the school.  Thorncliff Community League coordinates an ice rink and Community gardens. Thorncliffe Parent Council is a highly valued partner of our school culture and has a long tradition of  organizing many events throughout the school year that benefit all of our students.
